New Project

I've started crocheting an afghan for this new little guy-it's going to be quite a challenge! His nursery is decorated in a farm animal theme, so I have chosen a "picture" afghan. It should look like this when it's finished. (Which will hopefully be sometime before he starts school!)

I've never tried one like this before-you keep all the skeins of yarn "in play" until it is finished. The border is crocheted afterward-it's all done in US single crochet. So far I have the first 3 inches done starting at the bottom.

I'll keep you updated-hope I'm not in over my head on this one!

Better!

So glad this little guy is feeling better! He's been in and out of ER's for the last 2 days and finally was taken by ambulance and admitted to the children's hospital. He's doing much better and may get to come home tomorrow.

Flu Bug

Our two grandgirls and the 4 month old grandson all saw the doctor today and tested positive for influenza, which means that is what we also have. My husband is well enough to keep the girls while the doctor sent our daughter to the Children's Hospital Emergency Room with the 4-month old to make sure he didn't need to be admitted.  His fever is very high, but he had a breathing treatment and is eating some now, so hopefully they will be able to bring him home. Poor little guy-it's scary when they are so small and so sick. Wish I could be there to hold him, but his Mom is really who he needs right now!

Good news and bad news

Thank you so much for all the wonderful comments on both my daughter's surgery and the new baby. It makes me so happy to read your well-wishes and encouraging comments. I appreciate you all so much! For the good news: Daughter is doing great-amazingly well, and back on her feet being mom and wife with just a little soreness, so we are back home now . Our son's new baby didn't get to come home until yesterday as he had some jaundice issues and had to stay under the ultraviolet lights at the hospital. They are all home now and our daughter in law's mom, who is a doctor, is staying with them and taking care of everyone-I'm so glad she is there.

For the bad news: Guess we won't be going to see that beautiful new baby anytime soon. Thanks to our wonderful flu shots that we were so careful to get, we have avoided the flu they were made for and gotten one of the viruses that they didn't cover. I've managed to get a pot of chicken soup on and we're going to hibernate in our cave for a while....back later.

He's Here!

Our son called this morning to let us know that our newest grandson has arrived! Everyone is doing well-more to follow!

Life is Quiet

Not a lot going on right now, getting out in the mornings while it's relatively cool-as in mid to upper 80's instead of 100's)-...
