There's No Place Like Home

We got home about 1:30 this morning from a wonderful fall trip to Yellowstone, Grand Tetons and Glacier National Parks. We usually take a trip in September or October to someplace where they are actually having fall weather and autumn leaves. This one did not disappoint! We have been to Yellowstone before and loved it, but Tetons and Glacier were a new experience for us. The mountains, waterfalls and foliage were so beautiful. As great as it was, though, it's good to be home and sleep in our own bed! Here are a few pictures. (Warning-I'm not a great photographer!)

Hatred is What Kills

It's a heavy week. If the events we've seen, and the events we are remembering today teach us anything, I think it's this: it's not the instrument of murder that matters, it's the hatred behind it. If we allow hatred to rule our actions, then it doesn't matter if it's a gun, a knife, an airliner or a roman cross. The hatred allowed to grow in our hearts is the killer. And if we allow it to rule our actions toward others, it will kill us too.

Daddy

18 years ago today, my sweet dad laid down for a nap and awoke in the arms of Jesus. Miss him every day.

We Made It!!

That's how I always feel on September 1st. Maybe it comes from living most of my life in places where summers could be pretty brutal. (Or at least that's how it felt.) Even though the temperatures don't usually change until later in the month, there is a sense of summer being "over". I like that the weather people call September 1st the beginning of "Meteorological Fall"-I'll take it!

We are actually having some cooler temperatures (highs in the low to mid 80's) and it's cloudy and misty. I got out a fall mug for my tea this morning and started getting out some of my fall decor. Let the season begin!!

Life is Quiet

Not a lot going on right now, getting out in the mornings while it's relatively cool-as in mid to upper 80's instead of 100's)-...
