A Quieter Holiday...

...but still so Thankful for all that we have.

We had planned to have a big Thanksgiving,  but our local grandson (9 year  old) started feeling bad yesterday morning and tested positive for the you-know-what yesterday afternoon.  He is devastated because he was looking forward to playing with his cousins this week. They are best buds. Due to a fairly new baby and several others with health problems in our extended family, everyone decided it would be best not to get together.

We will still have Thanksgiving with our local family since we here have all had the you-know-what now. We will get together with the others at Christmas. We also have a larger family gathering planned just after Christmas to visit Great Grandma and maybe play in the snow in the mountains near where she lives.

So it will all be good, just a little different!

Wow!!

Our 8-year old grandson showed his steer today and won Breed Champion! We are so proud of him for all of the hard work and responsibility he has taken on learning how to groom, care for and show his steer, Big Red. Thanks to his Lollie (maternal grandma) and his Uncle Christopher for teaching him, working with him and taking him to all of the shows! He is carrying on his mom's family tradition of showing animals and loving them. (The grooming just amazes me-it looks almost like a teddy bear!) His little brother is coming along with his lamb and will be showing it soon.

Veteran's Day

It's windy and the leaves are flying today, though it's still pretty mild temperature-wise. We seem to be about a month behind in the weather department. 60s and 70s, but the days are beautiful and the leaves are finally turning.

October!
