A Rather Blustery Day

Leaves, trashbins and small animals flying through the air today.  Just kidding-it's a day that would blow Mary Poppins' umbrella inside out, though. Think we'll stay in.

Tomorrow, we're heading out to spend Halloween weekend with our grands that live a few hours away. Looking forward to sweet hugs, grandbaby snuggles and cute trick or treaters.

October Daze

Here it is already the middle of October. Our days are cooler and shorter-definitely enjoying our "October Eves"! We took a short trip up through Arkansas and into Southwestern Missouri. We visited Hot Springs Nat'l Park and saw Dolly Parton's Stampede in Branson. We drove up and down and around and through the Ozarks and Nat'l Forests. The leaves were starting to get really pretty in some places! We ate too much and just generally enjoyed ourselves for 6 days. We drove home yesterday. There was a time, when I was young, that I hated seeing a trip end and having to go home and get back to everyday life. Those days are definitely over! It was so good to come driving up the road to our comfy red brick house and sleep in our own bed. I almost felt that if I could have put my arms around our home and hugged it, I would have. "East, West, Home is (definitely) best!"

We had a sweet surprise this morning when our son and daughter-in-love texted me and said they would see us at church this morning! Their two older boys took a weekend trip with their other grandparents, so our son and dil decided they would take the two littles on a trip. They went to the zoo in Dallas yesterday and drove over to our church this morning! Our newest grand will be 2 months tomorrow-it was sweet to see him and his big sister. She'll be two in January.

Life is Quiet

Not a lot going on right now, getting out in the mornings while it's relatively cool-as in mid to upper 80's instead of 100's)-...
