Still triple digit temperatures and no rain in sight. Sigh.
Amazing that July is almost over. It's been a busy month keeping grandkids big and little, and grandpuppies too. Now that everyone is back from their vacations and getting ready for school to start soon, we are able to get back to work on the house. Earlier this year, we took in part of our back porch and made a "mud room" and a bathroom just off the kitchen and dining area. Before, the back door opened directly into the dining area. This gives us a better back entrance with quite a bit more room, and also gives us a much needed second bathroom downstairs. After the bathroom is finished, we will start taking up all of the ceramic tile in the kitchen and laundry room and the wood laminate in the living room and hallway in preparation for new flooring. We've chosen a beautiful dark wood-look porcelain tile. We will also paint the downstairs before the new floor goes in. It's a lot, but it will be beautiful when it's finished. We'd like to have it finished by the end of the year, but we'll see.
