This and That

Everything seems to be turning green this week and I've seen my first bluebonnets and red paintbrushes. If you live in Texas, you know that means spring has definitely arrived. Our oaks are putting on tassels and tiny leaves. The cardinals are singing this morning trying to attract a mate and a flash of bright blue through our trees means our blue birds and blue jays are here too. I really love living out here.

This week has been busy with Dr. appointments and procedures-can't mean we're getting old, can it? Today is finally a free day and I have been enjoying working outside trying to resurrect my badly neglected asparagus bed. I took down all of the old dead canes and now I'm clearing out the dead oak leaves and grass. It's a mess, but there is already asparagus coming up, so I have hopes of us actually getting to eat some!

We had storms last night, but this morning is beautiful. Everything is cool and wet and the ground is easy to work with. I'm not much of a gardener, but I'm enjoying the time outside! Not much else is going on here, which is always fine with me. I'm kind of a homebody and love the quiet days where I can pick the things I want to work on. It eventually all gets done. (Maybe not well, but it gets done!) The hubs is busy building fences and gates.

Next week, I have to get a molar extracted and start preparations for an implant. (Oh joy.) Then, of course, it will be Easter and the grands will be here for an egg hunt. My daughter is taking charge of that. (Thank goodness!) It will be a lot of fun to watch our youngest granddaughter (15 months) at her first Easter egg hunt. We're really looking forward to that. The boys are excited too, as we always put out special prize eggs with a little cash in them. We make sure that there's one for everybody.

That's all I've got-have a great rest of the week!

Sign of Spring

I was cleaning out our asparagus bed and heard a noise I've not heard in years. I looked up and a group of geese were headed north. High up, but I could hear them clearly. Spring is just around the corner and I'm so ready!

(This is an internet photo. I never have the presence of mind to take a photo, and the geese I saw were much higher up than these!)

Life is Quiet

Not a lot going on right now, getting out in the mornings while it's relatively cool-as in mid to upper 80's instead of 100's)-...
