Who are these two babies?
49 years ago today, we said "I Do"-and we still do. Wouldn't change a minute of it-the good, bad and the ugly have made us who we are today-I'm so happy to be spending my life with my best friend!

It looks as though this summer will be a humdinger temperature-wise. It's been very hot and humid already. Triple digits and probably too much humidity forecast for this coming week. Ugh. At least now, the days will start getting shorter! Can you tell I'm not a Summer person? Looks like we will be sitting on Hell's Front Porch for the foreseeable future!
Take care and stay cool!
My Dad-Love and miss him every day, but what a blessing and privilege to have him in my life for 51 years!
June is half over already!? Which means the year is almost half over!? Time does fly faster the older I get. I haven't been doing anything exciting since the grands went home, which is fine with me. I love keeping them, but I also enjoy quiet days spent doing things around the house. Preferably inside the house since we seem poised to leap right onto Hell's Front Porch. And it's not even officially Summer yet. Ugh. High humidity and temps in the upper 90's - 100's.
Anyway, I've started a project. I have lots of very old pictures that I cleared out of my parents' house years ago and realize that I am probably the only person alive now who may have any idea of who the people in them are. Some are over 100 years old. Back in 1997 when Mom died, my dad and I sat down and labeled a lot of them with names, dates and places, but there were some we put aside because we didn't know who the people were. I have a beautiful family photo taken somewhere in the late 19th or early 20th century that remained unlabeled and I'm trying to put some names to some of the faces. Ancestry.com is helping some.
Isn't that a great picture? I love the girl sitting on the post with her dog in her lap. I'm pretty sure the elderly lady near the top is my mom's paternal great-grandmother based on other pictures of her. (If anyone out there recognizes this picture-it was taken in Texas-possibly in Jones County. Possibly of the Proctor family. It's a long shot, I know, but please comment and let me know.) Anyway, it has made me realize I need to label photos, because someday, one of my kids may look at them and want to know who the people in them are.
In other "news", my husband is starting to tile the shower in our mud room and bathroom that he has added on to the house. It's going to be really nice. We have a two story house with only one bathroom down stairs and one in the master suite upstairs. When we have a houseful of kids and grandkids, we really need another bathroom. Plus, he's making this one with a wider door, grip bars and a large walk-in-shower as we'd like to stay here for as long as we can. We're shooting for 10 more years which would make us 77 and 79.
That's all that's going on here-hope you are all enjoying your summer and staying cool.
Not a lot going on right now, getting out in the mornings while it's relatively cool-as in mid to upper 80's instead of 100's)-...
