Today's the Day!

Can't believe our granddaughter's school years have flown by so quickly. Wasn't she just graduating from Kindergarten yesterday? Didn't they just bring her home from the hospital as a newborn just a couple of years ago?

Today, she will walk across the stage to receive her High School diploma! We are so proud of you Miss A, and love you so much! I know we won't blink twice before we're watching you do this again in 4 years graduating from university!

Calm Before the Storm

Getting ready for a busy week next week! Our oldest granddaughter (also our oldest grandchild) will graduate from high school next week. We are so proud of her and happy for her. Her other grandparents will be coming in this weekend and we will be spending time with her and them-a special dinner, graduation and then a family celebration. We think she is pretty special!

Speaking of storms, we have had more storms and rain this Spring than we have in quite a while. We're not complaining, though! We haven't had the high winds or hail here, though other parts of Texas have been hit hard. Everything is beautiful and green, and we hope it will continue and we won't have the drought and extreme heat that we did last year.

Hope everyone has a great week and if you are celebrating graduates in your family, congratulations!

Birthdays

Today, the sweet little baby girl that made us grandparents turns 18. Just doesn't seem possible! She has her Senior Prom next week and graduates from high school at the end of the month. She was born on my Dad's 90th birthday. He got to see her several times before he passed away the next year and loved her dearly, though he couldn't always remember just how he was related to her.

So very proud of her and all that she has accomplished. She graduates as a certified medical assistant and has been accepted into the pre-med program at the university she wanted to attend! Still, I miss that sweet little girl sometimes and my dad as well. I wish time didn't go by so quickly.

A happy, but bittersweet day today.

October!
