Memorial Day

Today, we honor those who have given their lives for our country. My husband's uncle was shot down over the Sea of Japan during WWII and never found, so today always draws our thoughts back to him, even though we never knew him. Thank you, Wilbur Chapman for your service.

May!

Amazing how fast this year is flying by-although I think I say that every year.  Not much new going on here. Our daughter returned to work full-time in April after being at home for quite a while. She wanted to wait until her youngest was in kindergarten and she was able to do that. She got her degree while she was doing that, and was prepared to start job hunting, but the company that she had worked for previously called and asked her to come back, so she was thrilled! It has made for some big changes for her family, but the kids are doing a great job adjusting. We will keep them for a few weeks throughout the summer and they will also have camps to attend.

Our Texas wildflowers have been beautiful as usual this year. The bluebonnets are about done, but the roadsides are filled with pink and white desert primroses now. Also some red and gold Indian Blanket flowers and bright yellow coreopsis and red paintbrushes.

Have a great first day of May!

October!
