Goodbye November

 

First Sunday of Advent

 

Well, Phooey

 Evidently flu for Thanksgiving was not exciting enough for this girl.  After things started sliding downhill yesterday, I went back to the Dr. today and now I am working on an ear infection and pneumonia. Sheesh! So armed with antibiotics, inhaler and Mucinex, I am determined to get better! Back home now, wrapped up in warm sweaters, etc. I am going to rest and maybe even take a nap. My sweet husband is making me homemade chicken soup for dinner. I do love that man!

Happy Thanksgiving.....not.

Looks like all of our family will be having Influenza A with a side of Tamiflu for Thanksgiving this year. I'm sick, our local grandson is sick, my husband is getting sick, the local granddaughters are just getting over it, our daughter had a flu shot so she's ok and so far our son in law is ok. Had to tell our son and my brother not to come. Guess we'll aim for Christmas!

Finally Fall

 Yes, I've said it before and this time it appears that it's here to stay. We have had false fall, second summer and then out of the blue on Friday, the temperature dropped, the rain fell and it felt like November. The forecast even predicts that it is not going to suddenly be 80 degrees tomorrow, but will stay in the 40s and 50s. The frost was on the pumpkin yesterday morning and it's great!

 

Better late than never...

 I should have posted this yesterday or even on Election Day, but however we feel about the results of this (or any) election, I think it's good to remember this:
