Finally Fall!

This is my favorite time of year and I'm so ready for it to be here! Our days are still pretty warm, but our nights are cooler and a few leaves are beginning to turn. I think I'll put on a pot of vegetable, beef and barley soup tomorrow and make some cornbread-fall comfort food!

We kept our youngest grandson last week and I'm still recuperating! It's a lot harder to keep up with a 20-month old than it used to be. My husband hurt his back the latter part of the week and couldn't really lift him or enjoy playing with him. We'll be going to see them in a few weeks and hopefully he can enjoy him more then.

I'm making this afghan for our newest grandson due at the end of the year.

I'm determined to have this one finished before the baby gets here! That would be a first for me!

Thursday Cuteness

Couldn't resist showing you our little farmer. He has his egg basket in hand and is ready to help his mom. He decided to try a piece of raw okra out of the garden-I'm not sure he liked it! What do you think?

This and That...

Sorry I've been so lax in posting-not that I'm ever very good about it, but I seem to have hit a slump this summer. It's been so hot and humid here, I've had a hard time finding the energy to do much of anything! Now it's finally September and even though it's still hot and humid, I know Summer's on it's way out and that seems to make me feel more like doing things! Except possibly, making sense-which this paragraph doesn't seem to! Anyway here's my first nod to autumn in our house. I'll put up a few more things this week.

Our Little Man (oldest grandson) turned 2 last week. It's gone by so quickly! 2 years ago he was in the NICU-

Now he's an active healthy boy!

We cooked hamburgers out on the grill and had birthday cake and ice cream-he had a big day!

Our girls started school last week-it was little Miss Sunshine's first day of Kindergarten and she wasn't too sure about it, but when our daughter picked them up, she was all smiles and ready to go back the next day.

Our Sweetheart started 3rd grade and was very cool and confident about the whole thing, chatting with friends and posing for pictures.

Life is Quiet

Not a lot going on right now, getting out in the mornings while it's relatively cool-as in mid to upper 80's instead of 100's)-...
