Busy, busy
Welcome to my new follower! I thought I should check in since it's been a week. I may not post again for another week. Our daughter is taking an intense 3 week summer class at her university, so we are keeping the munchkins 4 days a week until the end of the month. It's keeping us on our toes! The 7 year old is in school most of the day, so it's just the 4 yr. old and the baby. He'll be 9 months next week-hard to believe. He is "cruising" now, holding on to the furniture and walking around the living room. Won't be long until he lets go and takes those first steps alone. Have a great week everyone!

Mom
My sweet mom-she didn't have an easy life. She grew up during the depression and had a very dysfunctional home life as a girl. She struggled as a young wife and mother because back then, mental illness was misunderstood and something you pretended didn't exist. I know there were many days when she didn't how she was going to make it through the day, and she spent many years misdiagnosed. But, she did the very best she could as a mom, loving us fiercely and teaching us how to live. I miss her everyday, but I know she's in a better place and I know I'll see her again, whole and well. Happy Mother's day mom, I love you.

Busy Weekend
We had all of our kids and all four grands this weekend-it was wonderful! Our newest grandson brought his mommy and daddy to see us and to meet his cousins and aunt and uncle. Saturday, we took the older 3 and had an adventure. Some of my husband's cousins are ranchers, and this Saturday was their yearly calf round-up and chuck wagon dinner. It was very interesting! Our granddaughters are city girls so this was a real eye-opener for them.

Life is Quiet
Not a lot going on right now, getting out in the mornings while it's relatively cool-as in mid to upper 80's instead of 100's)-...

That's how I always feel on September 1st. Maybe it comes from living most of my life in places where summers could be pretty brutal. (...
