Vacation photos 1

Here are a few photos from a place called "Smoo Cave" up on the north coast of Scotland.  We drove most of the "North Coast 500" and it was well worth it. I'd never heard of this cave, but found it online when we were planning our trip. So glad we decided to go. It has a waterfall that flows down through it and out into the sea. You can go back into the cave and onto a ramp that takes you right up to the waterfall.

"You Didn't Tell Me You Were Going to Kill It!!

Still one of my favorite pictures! My daughter and youngest granddaughter from Halloween 6 years ago.

Trip photos to follow as soon as I'm finished wallowing in self-pity with this bad cold I've caught. (With all of the coughing, hacking and sneezing on the flight home, I'm not surprised-my husband caught it too.)

There and Back Again...

It was still summer weather when we left our Texas home October 8th and fall when we returned the 23rd! We have been in the UK for 2 weeks to celebrate our 45th anniversary. We were there in 1990 on a business trip and have always wanted to return. Thanks to our daughter and son-in-law using their frequent flyer miles to purchase our tickets we were able to go. It was a wonderful trip! We landed in Edinburgh, rented a car and drove to Inverness the first day. We spent the next 2 weeks driving up around the north coast of Scotland and down the west coast. We traveled to Wales and then down to Staffordshire in England to visit with my husband's cousins. Then over to York and back up to Edinburgh. We had an amazing time! We are also exhausted! We hit the ground running every morning and must have walked miles every day, but it was well worth it!

I think we may have finally caught up on our sleep and gotten over the jet lag. We feel pretty good today.  I'll share some pictures soon; I'm still going through all of them. It was a great adventure, but there's no place like home!

Life is Quiet

Not a lot going on right now, getting out in the mornings while it's relatively cool-as in mid to upper 80's instead of 100's)-...
