We've been enjoying some wonderful days with our grandchildren recently and it's been on my mind how much I wish my parents could have known them. They would have adored them! I found this picture of my Mom and Dad taken in the mid 1970's. This was taken in their living room-I lived in this house all of my life until I married. It wasn't big or fancy, but it was home because they made it a love-filled place. Miss you Mom and Dad.

Thomas Time!
Yesterday, we took our children and grandchildren to "Day Out With Thomas" at the local Vintage Railroad. It was so well put together and there was lots for the little ones to do. I think the toy trains and tracks were as big a hit as the actual train ride!
The girls thought they were too big for Thomas, but they enjoyed their first train ride.
It was a great day!

The Day After...
In spite of unusually cold, wet weather, we had a great Resurrection Sunday, Our church had an outdoor brunch and egg hunt scheduled before worship service but they ended up doing it indoors. The kids were well behaved and everything went amazingly well! The service was an uplifting and inspiring one that we enjoyed so much. I wimped out on cooking a big Easter dinner-we went to our favorite Italian restaurant and it was great! I'm kicking myself, though, because I didn't get a picture of the grands in their Easter finery! They were really cute!
By the time we all got to our house, the rain had stopped, so we hid eggs outside.
My camera skills definitely need improvement. I got lots of shots of the back of kids heads! Our two youngest grands were at their other grandparent's house (their Lolly and Pappy), so I'm looking forward to seeing some pictures of their Easter. Lolly said the two year old was not terribly impressed with the egg hunt!
They're all growing up so fast-our oldest (almost 9) nearly decided she was too old to hunt eggs this year. I'm treasuring these sweet days because I know they'll go by all too quickly! Hope you all had a wonderful Easter weekend!

It's Friday, but Sunday's Coming
It’s Friday
Jesus is praying
Peter’s a sleeping
Judas is betraying
But Sunday’s comin’
It’s Friday
Pilate’s struggling
The council is conspiring
The crowd is vilifying
They don’t even know
That Sunday’s comin’
It’s Friday
The disciples are running
Like sheep without a shepherd
Mary’s crying
Peter is denying
But they don’t know
That Sunday’s a comin’
It’s Friday
The Romans beat my Jesus
They robe him in scarlet
They crown him with thorns
But they don’t know
That Sunday’s comin’
It’s Friday
See Jesus walking to Calvary
His blood dripping
His body stumbling
And his spirit’s burdened
But you see, it’s only Friday
Sunday’s comin’
It’s Friday
The world’s winning
People are sinning
And evil’s grinning
It’s Friday
The soldiers nail my Savior’s hands
To the cross
They nail my Savior’s feet
To the cross
And then they raise him up
Next to criminals
It’s Friday
But let me tell you something
Sunday’s comin’
It’s Friday
The disciples are questioning
What has happened to their King
And the Pharisees are celebrating
That their scheming
Has been achieved
But they don’t know
It’s only Friday
Sunday’s comin’
It’s Friday
He’s hanging on the cross
Feeling forsaken by his Father
Left alone and dying
Can nobody save him?
Ooooh
It’s Friday
But Sunday’s comin’
It’s Friday
The earth trembles
The sky grows dark
My King yields his spirit
It’s Friday
Hope is lost
Death has won
Sin has conquered
and Satan’s just a laughin’
It’s Friday
Jesus is buried
A soldier stands guard
And a rock is rolled into place
But it’s Friday
It is only Friday
Sunday is a comin’!

Life is Quiet

That's how I always feel on September 1st. Maybe it comes from living most of my life in places where summers could be pretty brutal. (...
