Grandpets

We've been keeping the grandkitties and grandpuppy this past week while our daughter and her family went on vacation to Florida. Our SIL's mom and fiance rented a condo with them by a beach and they all had a great time. We had a lot of fun too, with these fur babies.

Always into something

I love the way one ear is always up and one is always down. She's a heeler-pointer mix.

The kitties are about 3 months old and are little balls of fire! They are into everything and play hard with each other, chasing around the house and wrestling before collapsing in a heap to sleep and recharge their batteries! The kittens are a new addition to our daughter's family and the dog still isn't sure what has happened to her world. She's a good girl and usually spends her days outside, but we bring her in when it gets hot. She's pretty easy going and easy to take care of, but the kittens are like having toddlers around the house! If you're wondering about the bar stools in the center of the room, we had to put them there to keep the kittens from launching off of them and onto the kitchen countertops. They have all been fun and entertaining, but we are ready for their family to come and take them back today! We haven't had a kitten around the house in many years (much less two!) and had forgotten what it's like. I think we may have been younger then!

All Quiet on the Western Front

Just a few rambles about what's going on in our life this week. Our daughter is doing wonderfully well and finishes her treatments next week. She is pretty much back to her old self and enjoying her family and life in general again. We are so grateful to God!

Also, I can now say that we will have a new grandbaby around the end of the year! Our son and DIL are expecting. They hadn't said anything publicly until last week, so I waited until they put it on Facebook. I figure that's pretty public! They took a trip to Iceland recently with their two boys-4 and 6 years old. The boys did amazingly well for such a long trip! They all spent the night with us coming and going since we live relatively close to the airport. (an hour, but that's four hours closer than they live!) The pictures they took are beautiful.

Now that we will be spending more time at home, I'm looking around at some of the things that really need doing around our house. The outside really needs some repairs and painting, but it will keep until the weather cools off, I'm thinking!
