Having Fun

 I've been enjoying the latest addition to our family.  (Our little dynasty as my father in law used to say. )

Born on Wednesday,  this is our 4th grandson and 7th grandchild,  Jay Thomas.  We think he's pretty special! My 65th birthday was yesterday and I think he's the perfect birthday present!

Some days

Some days, there are things I need to remind myself about. Days when I'm struggling spiritually and emotionally-often because I watch my children and grandchildren struggling. I want to fix them and I want to fix myself and I can't. I need to be reminded of the One who can. Days when I see everything happening in the world and I feel hopeless and angry and overwhelmed, I need to remember that the One who calmed the storm holds us close. I need to remember that He does things in His own time and that I can be ok with not knowing when that time will be. He has promised and He is faithful, and I'm so glad He is.

Only a Day Late

 I'm always glad to see August roll around-it just seems like the light is a little different. The days are a little bit shorter (not much, but it's noticeable), and I start feeling like fall isn't so impossibly far away!
