Not too long ago, I posted a picture of our house. It has a wrap-around porch which we adore. However, the house is 18 years old (we have lived in it almost 8 years ) and the outside has never been repainted. North Texas weather and time are taking their toll and we decided it has to be repainted this year. Hubby hoped to get started before the weather got too hot, but we ended up painting our daughter's house instead. (Funny how things like that happen! 😏) Anywho, we decided to start with the porch ceiling and we had one of many "if WE had built this house..." moments. Today, it was "...we would not have put 12 beautiful, but totally not made for outdoors light fixtures around the entire porch."

Very pretty, but have to be taken down in a zillion pieces-many of which have not weathered well over the years. So that took most of the morning. It was already over 90F and ridiculous humidity. Now the hubs is clearing off the wasp nests, (those things can rebuild a nest faster than whodathunkit!) and is getting ready to use his new airless paint sprayer.
I helped this morning, but I'm not a good helper this after noon. I had my second shingles vaccine yesterday and the same nasty reaction as I had with the first one has kicked in. My upper arm is sore and a little swollen, and a little hot and red, and I am a little achy and grumpy. All pretty common side effects (well maybe not the grumpy). However, I've had the shingles and it's much worse than the shot so I'm glad to get the vaccine.
( P.S. I know this is a pretty ordinary post of an pretty ordinary day that I'm blessed to be living. I'm staying away from the news and all that's going on right now. I'm praying for our country and it's people and leaders and there are no better hands I can put it in than God's. It does no good to fret and worry. I believe we need to do the best we can with what He's given us to do. And that's all I'll say about that.)
