Amazing!

The Mr. found this outside and brought it in to show me just now. Isn't it beautiful? I've never seen a chrysalis like this before. It looks almost jewel-like. My little point and shoot camera doesn't do it justice-it's a beautiful pale aqua with gold spurs.

I should have guessed since we have a yard full every year, but I'd never seen the chrysalis before, so I had to google it.  The butterfly is pretty, but I think the larva and chrysalis are more striking!

Easter Weekend

We had a great weekend with all of our kids and grands!  Lots of playing outside, swinging and egg hunting was done and of course lots of baby snuggles were had.

Our church had an Easter brunch before services and an Easter Egg hunt afterwards, and our grands had lots of fun!

We headed home where broke from tradition for Easter dinner. We usually have a ham, but we've had pork quite a bit lately, so my husband slow roasted a brisket with a smokey marinade and onions. It was wonderful! We also had potato salad and pinto beans with my daughter's fabulous strawberry shortcake for dessert. Afterwards, the kiddos hunted eggs again! (Unfortunately, my camera battery died, so I didn't get any pictures of that.)
About an hour after everyone headed home, a storm broke and we had rain all evening. Sure glad it waited and didn't spoil the day!

I'm Back!

I haven't gone missing, I just didn't really have a lot going on to post about!  Hubby has been busy tearing out carpet in our living room and hallway and putting down laminate flooring. It looks like oak flooring, but is more durable. It's beautiful-I'll post a picture when we get everything back in place and cleaned up.

We went to see this little guy this past weekend-our youngest grandson. He has suddenly gone from baby to little boy! He had his first haircut and it really changed the way he looks! He is a cutie (not that I'm prejudiced or anything!).  He was really clowning around when I took these. He's 15 months old now.

He'll be coming to our house this weekend to hunt Easter Eggs with his cousins! It's going to be a lot of fun to have them all together!
