Down Time

I'm taking it easy today, visiting with family and enjoying multiple cups of hot tea. Thanksgiving was wonderful, but I'm tired out and my voice is gone!  Doing some Christmas shopping online and will probably make something from turkey leftovers for dinner tonight. Have a wonderful weekend!

After the cold snap, milder days have returned and the trees have finally turned their fall colors. Our drive home from church today (45 minutes-we get a nice Sunday drive every Sunday!) was gorgeous-the leaves seem to have turned gold, orange and red all at once. Yesterday was dark and rainy, but today the sky is clear and deep blue. The wind is blowing pretty hard, so I'm afraid the leaf show will be over quickly.

We spent last week helping our daughter get her house ready for company. Her in-laws are coming for a visit this week. They are lovely people and we enjoy getting to visit with them. They will all be coming to our house for Thanksgiving dinner as well as our son's family. I'm getting excited! There will be 12 of us for dinner. Tomorrow I'll start my own preparations, but today, I'm going to relax and enjoy the beautiful day! Hope you all have a great week!

Weather or not...

After 7 months of Summer and 2 weeks of Fall-BAM! It's winter and it's COLD! But that's ok, because true to form in Texas, it will be Fall again next week. Here are a few funnies to celebrate the diversity!

Hoping your week is a good one whatever the weather!

November

Something told the wild geese
It was time to go,
Though the fields lay golden
Something whispered, "snow."

Leaves were green and stirring,
Berries, luster-glossed,
But beneath warm feathers
Something cautioned, "frost."

All the sagging orchards
Steamed with amber spice,
But each wild breast stiffened
At remembered ice.

Something told the wild geese
It was time to fly,
Summer sun was on their wings,
Winter in their cry.

Trick or Treat!

We had fun with these little trick or treaters yesterday:

Not the best picture, but it was hard to keep everyone still. They were ready to go! We had Wonder Woman, Superman and a vampire princess. (The vampire princess was having a Drama Queen moment, but she got over it and had fun.)

We didn't get to be with our son's family for Halloween, but we got pictures!

He's a cutie-and his mom and dad are pretty good looking too!

We brought our two granddaughters home with us for a sleepover and we're relaxing this morning, enjoying the crisp, beautiful weather!

Life is Quiet

Not a lot going on right now, getting out in the mornings while it's relatively cool-as in mid to upper 80's instead of 100's)-...
