The Easter Bunny Was Here!

We had all of our grands here yesterday and it was a wonderful day! The day started out cold, grey and windy, but by the time church was over, the sun came out and it was great for hunting Easter eggs!

Our grands that live close by: The misses A and Mr. R. The girls picked out their Easter dresses themselves-I thought they did a good job. They are all growing up so fast!

These two are our son's-Mr. H and Mr. C! They live 3 hours away. Wagon rides from Pop (my husband) are the first thing they want when they visit!

The younger ones had fun Easter egging!

(He was just as happy with a block of wood as he was an egg!)

It was a great day!

It's Friday...

It’s Friday
Jesus is praying
Peter’s a sleeping
Judas is betraying
But Sunday’s comin’

It’s Friday
Pilate’s struggling
The council is conspiring
The crowd is vilifying
They don’t even know
That Sunday’s comin’

It’s Friday
The disciples are running
Like sheep without a shepherd
Mary’s crying
Peter is denying
But they don’t know
That Sunday’s a comin’

It’s Friday
The Romans beat my Jesus
They robe him in scarlet
They crown him with thorns
But they don’t know
That Sunday’s comin’

It’s Friday
See Jesus walking to Calvary
His blood dripping
His body stumbling
And his spirit’s burdened
But you see, it’s only Friday
Sunday’s comin’

It’s Friday
The world’s winning
People are sinning
And evil’s grinning

It’s Friday
The soldiers nail my Savior’s hands
To the cross
They nail my Savior’s feet
To the cross
And then they raise him up
Next to criminals

It’s Friday
But let me tell you something
Sunday’s comin’

It’s Friday
The disciples are questioning
What has happened to their King
And the Pharisees are celebrating
That their scheming
Has been achieved
But they don’t know
It’s only Friday
Sunday’s comin’

It’s Friday
He’s hanging on the cross
Feeling forsaken by his Father
Left alone and dying
Can nobody save him?
Ooooh
It’s Friday
But Sunday’s comin’

It’s Friday
The earth trembles
The sky grows dark
My King yields his spirit

It’s Friday
Hope is lost
Death has won
Sin has conquered
and Satan’s just a laughin’

It’s Friday
Jesus is buried
A soldier stands guard
And a rock is rolled into place

But it’s Friday
It is only Friday
Sunday is a comin’!

Spring Has Sprung

Or so it seems. We're having an unusually early spring here. Our oaks are putting on catkins, our fruit trees are blooming and the grass is green. We had over 4" of rain yesterday and more to come later this week. Creeks and rivers are out of their banks already-glad we live on a hill.

We bought two Black Angus calves last month. They're about 5 months old. They really come running when my husband goes outside-they think he's going to give them a treat! He gives them sweet feed once a day, but we have two pastures of rye grass and they are really chowing down!

We also have 10 little chicks now. 3 Ameraucanas and 7 Barred Rocks. They should all be big pretty chickens when they grow up.  Hopefully we'll have more hens than roosters since we got them to have fresh eggs. They are only about 2 weeks old now and so cute. The grandkids have been spending lots of time watching "chicken TV". We have them in a brooder box right now, but when it dries out and warms up, we'll start giving them a little outdoor time. My husband built them a really nice chicken coop with a covered run.

These animals are a new adventure for us, but we're enjoying it. I'll post pictures later.

It's Super Tuesday!!

(But seriously-if you live in a Super Tuesday state, please vote today!)

Life is Quiet

Not a lot going on right now, getting out in the mornings while it's relatively cool-as in mid to upper 80's instead of 100's)-...
