Great Easter Weekend

Our Easter service yesterday was wonderful-great music, message and fellowship! We had all of the kids and grands here Saturday and Sunday. Lots of good food was eaten, eggs were hunted and lots of cousin playtime was had.

These first cousins are the 3 Musketeers. They adore being able to get together and play-the two younger ones live 3 hours away-soon to be 4 hrs. Our youngest granddaughter also hunted eggs, but didn't want her picture taken. The oldest granddaughter helped hide eggs this year, but got a goodie bag of candy and girly stuff. Hard to imagine she will be a teenager next month. These are boys are 6, 6 and 4. There are 4 months between the two 6 year olds.

The house is quiet today and we are cleaning up the after math, but we sure enjoyed having them here.

Good Friday

It’s Friday

Jesus is praying
Peter’s a sleeping
Judas is betraying
But Sunday’s comin’

It’s Friday
Pilate’s struggling
The council is conspiring
The crowd is vilifying
They don’t even know
That Sunday’s comin’

It’s Friday
The disciples are running
Like sheep without a shepherd
Mary’s crying
Peter is denying
But they don’t know
That Sunday’s a comin’

It’s Friday
The Romans beat my Jesus
They robe him in scarlet
They crown him with thorns
But they don’t know
That Sunday’s comin’

It’s Friday
See Jesus walking to Calvary
His blood dripping
His body stumbling
And his spirit’s burdened
But you see, it’s only Friday
Sunday’s comin’

It’s Friday
The world’s winning
People are sinning
And evil’s grinning

It’s Friday
The soldiers nail my Savior’s hands
To the cross
They nail my Savior’s feet
To the cross
And then they raise him up
Next to criminals

It’s Friday
But let me tell you something
Sunday’s comin’

It’s Friday
The disciples are questioning
What has happened to their King
And the Pharisees are celebrating
That their scheming
Has been achieved
But they don’t know
It’s only Friday
Sunday’s comin’

It’s Friday
He’s hanging on the cross
Feeling forsaken by his Father
Left alone and dying
Can nobody save him?

Ooooh
It’s Friday
But Sunday’s comin’
It’s Friday
The earth trembles
The sky grows dark
My King yields his spirit
It’s Friday
Hope is lost
Death has won
Sin has conquered
and Satan’s just a laughin’
It’s Friday
Jesus is buried
A soldier stands guard
And a rock is rolled into place
But it’s Friday
It is only Friday
Sunday is a comin’!

Mid-April already!

Time seems to keep whizzing by the older I get. Hard to believe it's mid-April. We had cold temps, storms and almost 2 inches of (much needed) rain over the weekend, but yesterday and today have been beautiful! We're gearing up for Easter here-I'll be cooking dinner and then the grands will have an egg hunt. Brings back good memories of our kids and their cousins hunting eggs at my in-laws home in the country.

Although it was Palm Sunday yesterday, we had a special communion service at church, dwelling on the great sacrifice made for us by Jesus. It was very meaningful. We have communion every week, but this was a day completely devoted to it. My husband and I sing on our praise team and we are looking forward to the special music our worship minister has planned for Easter!

Hope everyone has a good week!

No Foolin'...

...it's already April!  Everything is green and the pollen is flying, but it's ok. I may sneeze my head off, but I love spring here. The bluebonnets, paintbrushes are out as well other wild flowers and the wild plums are blooming. North Central Texas is beautiful in springtime and I love it. (And yes, obviously the black cloud that follows me around all winter has lifted!)

These are internet photos because I'm a lousy photographer, but it really is this pretty right now!

Life is Quiet

Not a lot going on right now, getting out in the mornings while it's relatively cool-as in mid to upper 80's instead of 100's)-...
