A Few Thoughts

Sitting on my front porch glider this afternoon-cool breeze from an approaching storm.
Birds I've seen today-blue jay, cardinal, eastern bluebird, chick a dee.
Listening to some gospel music.
A good day-a quiet day.

Our daughter and son-in-law got 3 offers on their house the first day it was on the market. We are looking forward to some quiet days at home-until it's time for them to move!

School is out for the summer-we now have a high schooler, a middle schooler and a 3rd grader!  Our other two school age grands are homeschooled and go more or less year round with several week breaks all through the year. They are 7 and 5 and are learning things that amaze me. They also attend a Classical Academy once or twice a week.

We worshipped online with our church this morning. It will be wonderful when we can be together again. They are still figuring out the logistics of that-we have about 300 people and that pretty well fills our sanctuary-I'm thinking they may have to have a second Sunday morning service.

I just want to say thank you to all of my followers! I'm really enjoying our blog community and I enjoy reading your comments and your blogs!

Our home

This is the glider my husband made. It's painted dark red to match our house
and I love to sit on the porch and watch the world go by.

Back to Somewhat Semi-Normal

We've been busy this week helping our daughter and son in law paint the inside of their house. They are building a new house and are putting this one on the market this week. They were told houses were selling fast in their neighborhood and since our son in law's job is very stable they are going ahead with their plans. I've also gotten to help our older 7 year old grandson with his online school work this week. Having school at home on the computer has been a real challenge for him. He has ADHD and also is likely on the autism spectrum, but they are not sure exactly how yet. They are in the process of having him evaluated, although the virus rules have made the process more difficult. He is so sweet and very bright. He has a very hard time staying focused and putting thoughts together, especially if he has to write them out. It's so hard to see him struggle. He spent most of Wednesday last week being tested. Hopefully they will be able to help him and help the school set up an IEP (individual education plan) for this coming school year.

We had several inches of rain this past week and everything is green and beautiful. Our asparagus is really starting to produce-sure do love fresh asparagus! Not looking forward to the heat of summer, but we've got a new air conditioner so at least we'll be comfortable!

Not much else to say-Texas is opening up more and more, but we are only doing what we are comfortable with. We did eat dinner inside our favorite mexican restaurant this evening-it was really nice to be able to do that. There weren't many people there and the seating was well separated, so we felt comfortable and enjoyed it. We will be helping our daughter and son in law with their house this week too and then we should be able to stay home and get some of our own housework done!

Happy Mother's Day

My beautiful mom-wish she could have known her great-grandchildren. Love and miss her everyday.

October!
