Sorry I haven't written anything in a while..I've sort of lost my blogging mojo. Not that things have been particularly quiet. We've had a tremendous amount of rain and flooding in the last two weeks. Lakes that have been mostly dry for several years are now full, which is a great thing! Hopefully we're heading away from the drought for good. ('Til the next one!)
We've had a wonderful visit with our two youngest grandsons. (And their parents, but lets face it, we all know who the main attractions are in grandparent world!) They're getting ready to move and will be a couple of hours closer to us!
Tomorrow, we'll spend part of the day at our granddaughters' school. They are having to make up bad weather days from this winter, so they have to go to school on Memorial Day. They are having a special patriotic assembly and a picnic.
So life is plugging away and I'll try to be a better blogger!

Stormy Weather
We spend last night with cell phones and flashlights in hand due to some severe thunderstorms. We had high winds and buckets of rain here, but these pictures were taken to the north of us.
We are under the gun for bad storms through the weekend with possibly up to 5 inches of rain. Hoping to avoid the large hail and tornadoes!

Throwback Thursday
We've been enjoying some wonderful days with our grandchildren recently and it's been on my mind how much I wish my parents could have known them. They would have adored them! I found this picture of my Mom and Dad taken in the mid 1970's. This was taken in their living room-I lived in this house all of my life until I married. It wasn't big or fancy, but it was home because they made it a love-filled place. Miss you Mom and Dad.

Thomas Time!
Yesterday, we took our children and grandchildren to "Day Out With Thomas" at the local Vintage Railroad. It was so well put together and there was lots for the little ones to do. I think the toy trains and tracks were as big a hit as the actual train ride!
The girls thought they were too big for Thomas, but they enjoyed their first train ride.
It was a great day!

The Day After...
In spite of unusually cold, wet weather, we had a great Resurrection Sunday, Our church had an outdoor brunch and egg hunt scheduled before worship service but they ended up doing it indoors. The kids were well behaved and everything went amazingly well! The service was an uplifting and inspiring one that we enjoyed so much. I wimped out on cooking a big Easter dinner-we went to our favorite Italian restaurant and it was great! I'm kicking myself, though, because I didn't get a picture of the grands in their Easter finery! They were really cute!
By the time we all got to our house, the rain had stopped, so we hid eggs outside.
My camera skills definitely need improvement. I got lots of shots of the back of kids heads! Our two youngest grands were at their other grandparent's house (their Lolly and Pappy), so I'm looking forward to seeing some pictures of their Easter. Lolly said the two year old was not terribly impressed with the egg hunt!
They're all growing up so fast-our oldest (almost 9) nearly decided she was too old to hunt eggs this year. I'm treasuring these sweet days because I know they'll go by all too quickly! Hope you all had a wonderful Easter weekend!
