It was still summer weather when we left our Texas home October 8th and fall when we returned the 23rd! We have been in the UK for 2 weeks to celebrate our 45th anniversary. We were there in 1990 on a business trip and have always wanted to return. Thanks to our daughter and son-in-law using their frequent flyer miles to purchase our tickets we were able to go. It was a wonderful trip! We landed in Edinburgh, rented a car and drove to Inverness the first day. We spent the next 2 weeks driving up around the north coast of Scotland and down the west coast. We traveled to Wales and then down to Staffordshire in England to visit with my husband's cousins. Then over to York and back up to Edinburgh. We had an amazing time! We are also exhausted! We hit the ground running every morning and must have walked miles every day, but it was well worth it!
I think we may have finally caught up on our sleep and gotten over the jet lag. We feel pretty good today. I'll share some pictures soon; I'm still going through all of them. It was a great adventure, but there's no place like home!
I agree, It is wonderful to travel and see the world or other places...but there is no place like home. Blessings, xoxo, Susie

ReplyDeleteHow simply wonderful!!! We spent December 2009 in Abderdeen when Amber and Mike lived there for a year. LOVE Scotland!!!
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful anniversary celebration! Ours is tomorrow but we are not celebrating until the 5th. It's a reservation thing.
ReplyDeleteOh my, you were in Edinburgh. I could've come meet up with you!Sounds like you did the North Coast 500, up one side of Scotland and down the other. That's quite a scary road at times. Glad you had a good trip and glad you got home safely.
ReplyDeleteOh what an amazing trip!!!!!!!
