"We Now Resume Normal Programming"

Guess that phrase shows my age! I remember when I was a kid, hearing that on TV after the news had broken into a show for a news bulletin. Not sure what passes for "normal" these days. At our age, it's Dr. appointments, hobbies, grandkids and puttering around the house! (Have I said lately how much we love being retired!?)

Christmas is all put away and the house is back to semi-normal. We sent a steer to be processed last month and we picked up the meat last week. The house is now filled with the lovely aroma of a roast in the crockpot for tonight's dinner!

I don't make New Year's resolutions anymore, life is too short and things change too quickly. If I can take each day as it comes and use the opportunities God gives me to His glory, that will be more than enough. I do make plans,  but with the knowledge that He knows best and his timing is always perfect.

Christmas and the Aftermath

We had a wonderful Christmas at our daughter's house. It was relaxed and we enjoyed all kinds of goodies plus our usual Christmas posole and tamales-a tradition we got from our years in Northern New Mexico. The next day, we drove north a few hours and picked up our two youngest grands. We had another little Christmas with them here and took them back today. Now to recuperate and then start the big post-Christmas clean up!

The Yearly Christmas Crud

Our sweet youngest granddaughter loves to share with her Mimi and Pop-including the upper respiratory virus of the day. They were here Thanksgiving and went home a day early since she was coughing and running a fever. So of course, we were sick all last week. Hubby got over his pretty quickly, but I developed a secondary sinus infection and finally gave in and went to my doctor today. So armed with steroids, antibiotics and cough medicine, I hope to be over this soon and getting back to getting ready for Christmas. Meanwhile, feet up, hot tea, meds and cross stitch!

October!
