Remember I said a few posts back that the oaks were being stubborn and not turning? Well, they finally gave in and it has been pretty the last few days. It's only a month late. These leaf colors are generally what we see in mid-November. Today is cloudy and cool and the smell of wood smoke is everywhere. Tonight and tomorrow night are supposed to be in the 20's, so I imagine the leaves will mostly be gone after this weekend. Glad we were able to get out today. Thank you for your kind thoughts for my husband. His ablation went perfectly and now he just has to rest and take it easy for a week or two. Not something he likes to do! He is more tired than he thought he would be, but at our age you don't just snap back anymore. Plus, we still have the sinus stuff, though no fever or anything. Anyway, here are a few photos I took while we were out today. I'm not a great photographer, but hopefully, it will give you an idea of how pretty the oaks are right now.
This one is in our front pasture. It's redder in person than this picture shows.

Beautiful trees and colors!! They are always slow to change here in FLorida. So we enjoy fall all winter long. LOl. Glad your husband's procedure went well. Yes, learning to rest and heal is always hard, especially for the guys. Praying he will soon feel good as new. Merry Christmas to all.
ReplyDeleteI love Autumn and all the colors. Unfortunately this year our leaves went from green to dead real quick. As much rain as we had in the spring I thought for sure we would have a gorgeous Autumn but those months of hot weather took care of that idea. Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteGrace & Peace,
Pam
It's very pretty! Our oaks have also changed and are now dropping onto the snow. :)
ReplyDeleteGlad your hubby is doing well. Our granddaughter has an ablation scheduled on Mon for an arrythmia. She's pretty nervous, it'll be good to have it done with.
Very pretty color in the leaves.
ReplyDeleteThankful your husband is doing well, and can rest even if he doesn't want to!
You must live in Texas...This is exactly the way my neck of the woods looks. I made the comment yesterday that we are just now having Fall. There are some beautiful red and yellow trees in our area. So glad your husband is doing well after the ablation. Hope his stamina picks up soon.
