Thanksgiving Week

We're getting ready for Turkey Day here.  There will be 17 of us-even a card table and folding chairs for the littlest grands, just like we had when we were little! I'm looking forward to having kids, grandkids and even my brother and his family all together here.

The weather has finally decided to be fall, dropping down into the 50's for highs and 30's for lows. (You'd think it was November or something!) The oak trees are turning gold and red and it is finally starting to get pretty out here. We've had such warm autumns the past few years that we've had pretty leaves on into December. I sat down and started my Christmas shopping today-good old Amazon. I haven't started decorating yet, though. I still have all of my fall stuff up-I don't like to start Christmas treeing until after Thanksgiving!

Tomorrow will be a house cleaning day and Wednesday will be cooking day. Everything I can make ahead of Thanksgiving puts me that much further ahead. My daughter and granddaughters will be bringing a lot of the food and my son-in-law will cooking the turkey in his oil less fryer. It makes a delicious bird and no boiling hot oil to worry about! He injects the turkey the night before with Cajun butter seasoning and it is so good!

Friday I will enjoy a nice day of not shopping! I hate "black Friday", at least as far as actually going into the stores is concerned. I may take advantage of some of the online deals. Mostly, I'm going to enjoy my family! Hope you all have a wonderful Thanksgiving!

October!
